Asamoah eyes revenge over Barcelona in Champions League at San Siro

The Nerazzurris couldn't stand the Spanish giants who were even without their key man but the midfielder says they will make amends in the return leg

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah believes Inter Milan can defeat La Liga giants Barcelona in the return leg of the Uefa Champions League next month after losing 2-0 to the Blaugrana on Wednesday.

Although, Barcelona missed Lionel Messi as the captain sat the game out with a fractured arm, goals from Rafinha and Jordi Alba were enough to claim maximum points at Camp Nou.

Asamoah, who saw full action in a three-man defensive setup, however, is optimistic they can win the reverse fixture next month in front of their home supporters to brighten their chances of making it out of the group.

“Barcelona are always a strong team both at home and away. We did not have the game that we wanted but we created some opportunities where we could have done better," Asamoah told Sky Sports TV.

"I think that we can beat them at home in the reverse fixture,” he added.

Inter currently sit second in Group B with six points, three points behind Barcelona.
