Arsenal vs Fulham Predictions: EPL Week 4 Match Odds & Best Bets

Arsenal maintained their 100 percent start to the season last weekend with a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Two goals from club captain Martin Ødegaard inside the opening 11 minutes eased any concerns about a potential letdown and set the Gunners on pace to a comfortable win. Arsenal controlled the contest for long stretches and could have easily put four or five past the Cherries.

Instead, they had to settle for William Saliba’s sensational left-footed strike early in the second half, which ended any chance of a Bournemouth comeback. Gabriel Jesus, who produced a sublime bit of skill in the buildup to the opening goal, saw a strike of his own ruled out late on after VAR judged the striker to be fractionally offside.

Arsenal will look to continue their strong start to the season when they take on another recently promoted side, Fulham, on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.

The Cottagers have started well in their return to the Premier League, picking up five points from three matches, including an impressive 2-2 draw against Liverpool on the opening weekend.

After earning their first win of the campaign against Brentford in Matchweek 3, can Fulham build on that performance and trouble the Gunners away from home? Let’s dig into the odds and our favorite bets for this London derby.

Arsenal are heavy favorites in this match for good reason. After Manchester City dropped points against Newcastle on Sunday, Arsenal sit alone atop the Premier League table. The Gunners have won their opening three fixtures and the quality of their performances have backed up those results.

While Fulham have also started brightly, there is no denying the gulf in class between these two teams. The Cottagers also have a pretty terrible track record against their London rivals, having won just once against Arsenal in their last 12 meetings.

Arsenal vs Fulham Betting Tips

Arsenal back line must win aerial battles vs Mitrović

If Arsenal are going to win this game, they’re going to need to shut down Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrović. The 6-foot-2 Serbian is a physical presence and a menace in the air, having already scored a pair of headed goals so far this season.

Mitrović set the EFL Championship record with 43 goals last season and is a very legitimate threat, especially to unsuspecting full backs at the back post. He’ll likely look to challenge Oleksandar Zinchenko, who is the least physically imposing player in Arsenal’s back line.

Having Ben White, who played center back last season, in a right back role should help the Gunners here, as he will provide additional aerial and physical strength to the blooming center-back partnership of Gabriel and Saliba.

How will USMNT defenders hold up vs Jesus, Saka?

In each of their first three matches, Fulham have started the USMNT duo of Antonee “Jedi” Robinson at left back and Tim Ream as the left-sided center back. In this fixture, they will have the unenviable task of dealing with Gabriel Jesus and England winger Bukayo Saka.

Ream, who hasn’t seen much of a look from USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter, is looking to prove he can be a quality center back at this level. He’s proven that in the Championship, but could be in for a long day against an energetic and on-form Jesus.

Robinson will have to stand up to Saka, who became the second-youngest Arsenal player to make 100 EPL appearances last weekend. The 20-year-old winger is shifty on the ball and can dribble past defenders with ease, making him a tough assignment for any fullback to handle.

It’ll be interesting to see how these American defenders hold up, especially Robinson, as he could very likely be in the U.S. starting lineup against Saka and England when the two countries face off at the World Cup in Qatar in a few months.

Can Arsenal handle the pressure atop the table?

Although we are only three games into the season, Arsenal find themselves in a position that they haven’t been in very often in recent years. Strong starts have been hard to come by and the Gunners have generally been forced to try to make up ground on their top-six rivals later in the campaign.

This match is another opportunity for Mikel Arteta’s squad to show that they have a different mentality this season, something that has been much discussed after the summer additions of proven winners in Jesus and Zinchenko.

Arsenal has a different feel about them so far this campaign, but they have yet to face much in terms of adversity. If that arrives in this game, especially given their position atop the table, it will be fascinating to see how they react.

Arsenal vs Fulham Prediction

Arsenal 3-1 Fulham

It’s difficult to see this Arsenal side dropping points at the moment, especially at home.

The Gunners have carried their positive preseason vibes into the early weeks of the campaign and are playing with a lot of confidence. There’s plenty to love about their formation fluidity and quick combination play when they attack, but I’ve been just as impressed with their doggedness when they don’t have possession.

Arsenal have shown an ability to press high and win the ball back quickly, which really kills the spirit of teams that will have to chase the game for long stretches. Fulham has been out-possessed in all three of their matches thus far and should see less than 40% again on Saturday.

In the end, I think Arsenal has enough quality to break down the Fulham back line and should see out another three points here.

➕ Arsenal -1.5 (-120) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1.2 Units

Wagering on Arsenal to win this match outright at (-300) odds is a pricey proposition as you’ll have to invest $30 to win $10. Instead, I would recommend betting on Arsenal to win by two goals or more.

It’s a risk, but one seemingly worth taking as the Gunners have won each of their opening three contests by 2+ goals. I’ve got faith that they can put Fulham away comfortably in what is expected to be a high scoring game.

➕ Arsenal to Win and Both Teams to Score (+165) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was rarely tested by Bournemouth, but I think he’ll be a bit busier against a Fulham side that is a threat at set pieces and on the counter. And while the defense in front of him has been more resolute thus far, it’s certainly possible that the Gunners concede here.

Given his goalscoring form, it wouldn’t be a shock to see Mitrović back on the scoresheet once again for the Cottagers. Still, I expect Arsenal to take all three points, so this prop is a good way to get better odds on that outcome.

➕ Result after 30:00 Min: Arsenal (+125) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

This is another good way to get plus-money odds on Arsenal, as the Gunners are (-135) favorites to be leading at half time. If you take 15 minutes off the clock, you get better odds on a bet that they have cashed in each of their opening three games.

Expect another quick start for the home side in this one.
