The former football association's chief believes the interim body in charge of the day-to-day activities of the sport is on good path

Former Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie has praised the work rate of the Normalisation Committee set up by Fifa to run the day-to-day activities of the game in the country.

Following Ghana FA's dissolution in June due to corrupt practices, some Ghanaians argue that the Normalisation Committee has not lived up to the expectations, for failing to organise the various local leagues.

However, Afriyie believes the team is on the right path and must be supported.

“To be very honest with you, their mandate was very clear. That is, to see to the day-to-day running of football in this country and if you ask me on whether they’re doing it, the answer is yes," Afriyie told Kessben TV.

"The Africa Women Cup of Nations is currently underway in the country and the Black Maidens participated in the U17 Fifa World Cup in Uruguay. The CHAN team (U-23) has also participated in a game against Namibia so it means that they are on track.

“On the concerns about the review of the Ghana FA statues, the committee might be working silently on it. Remember that December will be their third month, which means that they still have three more months left to finish their work. So I would advocate for us to do away with the pressure and support them,” he added.

The Normalisation committee is expected to complete their task by March 31, 2019.
