The match against K’Ogalo was to be played on Saturday at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, but was officially called off on Wednesday to allow Harambee Stars play two friendly matches against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea.
Ingwe Secretary General Oscar Igaida says the Federation will have to refund the team.
“We had used a lot of money to prepare for this match, and now that it is not our fault that it has been postponed, we should be refunded.
"We will forward the invoices to the FKF, and request them to give back what we had used in preparation for the game,” Igaida told Goal.
The derby was postponed on Thursday with KPL stating that they will get new date and venue for the same after consulting with home team – AFC Leopards.
“After consultation with the KPL Executive Committee, this is to confirm that the AFC Leopards v Gor Mahia match that was scheduled to be played at Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday, May 26, has been postponed.
“A new date and venue for the match will be communicated next week after consultations with the home that is AFC Leopards.”
