Despite having already been eliminated, Vamos FC made their first-ever victory in their first-ever AFC Futsal Club Championship, as they defeated Disi Invest 5-2 in their final Group B match on Tuesday.

With so much pride at stake, both sides made a cautious start but the Indonesians took an early lead when Kustiawan scored with a simple finish (2’) before completing his own double 6 minutes later. The Tajikistan side replied immediately through Mehruboni Tillozoda’s goal (8’) after a lighting quick counter-attack. Just before the break, Kustiawan grabbed his hat-trick, also his fifth goal of the competition (19’).

Disi Invest were thrown a lifeline just seconds before the break, when Vamos were penalised for the sixth accumulated infringement. Tillozoda unleashed a powerful drive, but failed to find the equalizer.

The restart saw both teams increase the tempo, with a series of end-to-end attacks. Utilizing the mistakes by Disi defenders, Vamos then beat for the fourth & fifth goals of the match (31’, 34’). The Tajikistan side then resorted to the power play strategy, and finally rewarded in the closing minutes with Firuz Bekmurodov’s goal (39’) but the Indonesians were well beyond reach.

Chonburi Bluewave continued their impressive form in the AFC Futsal Club Championship Vietnam 2017 as they brushed aside FC Almalyk 5-0 to take top spot in Group D, facing Shriker Osaka in the last eight.

After registering the biggest win of the competition in the 9-0 triumph over Bank of Beirut, the Thai side continued to showcase their prowess as they took the lead after just 45 seconds with Kritsada Wongkaeo’s goal. With qualification for the quarter-finals well within their grasp, Chonburi head coach Rakphol Sainetgnam decided to rest his stars but the Uzbekistan side still failed to come close to the equalizer.

Almalyk came out of the break a completely different side from the first half, determined to find their very first goal of the match. Despite all the powerful efforts via power play tactic, the Uzbekistan side’s hope was then absolutely destroyed by Chonburi’s 3 consecutive goals scored by Suphawut (34'), Ronnachai (36'), Peerapat (38').
