Aduana Stars coach Abubakar reveals attack attempt from supporters in the wake of Raja game

Aduana Stars coach Yussif Abubakar has expressed his shock following an attempt by a section of the club's fans to physically assault him at training ground a day after the team’s 3-3 home stalemate against Raja Casablanca in Caf Confederation Cup Group A.

The Ghanaian champions rallied from behind on three occasions to salvage a point but, according to the coach, the supporters believe they lost their bets because of his tactics.

"A section of the supporters of Aduana Stars approached me right after ending our training session yesterday and wanted to beat me," Abubakar told Asempa FM.

"According to them, our 3-3 stalemate with Raja Casablanca spoilt their bet slips, so they are blaming my tactics for it and don't want to see me at the bench again.

"I have informed the top hierarchy of the club and a formal complaint has been made at the police station. I believe they will handle the situation properly to ensure that sanity prevails. I'm still committed to the job and hopes to qualify the club to the next stage," he added.

Aduana occupy bottom of Group A log with a point after two games, three points behind leaders AS Vita Club of Congo.
