Aduana Stars coach Abubakar hoping to maintain flawless run

The Ghana Premier League leaders are now focusing on the league title following their win over Inter Allies on Saturday

Aduana Stars confirmed their title ambition on Saturday after defeating Inter Allies 2-1 in the first encounter of matchday six played at the El-Wak Stadium.

Head coach of the Ogya boys, Yusif Abubakar, believes their dream of becoming Ghana champions by end of the season will come true if they are able to maintain their winning run.

“We have to be consistent with our performance. We are happy with the victory. I have followed the records and before the game I was told some time they’ve not been able to beat [Inter Allies] in their away fixture therefore I needed to mount a strategy to break that jinx,” Abubakur said.

“If you watched the first half my boys were complacent and I was mad at them so I gave them some serious talks and they woke up and that is exactly what happened in the second half that gave us the victory”.

After a goalless first half, Isaac Twum put the hosts in the lead by the 47th minute but two goals from Nathaniel Asamoah and Derrick Sassraku sealed Aduana’s vital away win.

“We approached the second half with the same mental approach but the mental attitude was different so I made them to understand that they have to be psychological tough and I believe that did the magic for us,” Abubakur added.

Aduana Stars are on top of the table with 16 points after six matches.
