And then it was down to two.

Despite the rumours circulating that Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin would contest for the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) president post, it is ultimately only down to two as FAM announced on Monday that it will be a two-horse race for the top post.

In the same announcement, it was also informed that four candidates will run for the FAM Deputy-President, nine candidates for the Vice-President, 17 candidates for the executive committee (male) and seven candidates for the executive committee (female). Yet there is no doubt that in Dato' Hj Hamidin Mohd Amin's address to the press, it was the names for the presidency that hogged all limelight.

Tan Sri Annuar Musa will go up against Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ) for the responsibility to run FAM for the next five years, during the upcoming elections in March. The two has been feuding the past few weeks over Kelantan and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) matters and this certainly adds fuel to the clash between the two.

After what is a sparse or behind the scenes contribution from the incumbent president, it would make for quite a change to have a new president that doesn't hesitate to take to the social media to voice out any remarks or retorts. Definitely from one extreme to another, in that sense.

The task at hand is to make changes, sweeping changes if needs be and it does. From top to bottom, it's a mammoth task that awaits the new president. Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) through its president in Hairuddin Omar has already voiced their support for TMJ, would that be your choice too?
