Italy's 1-1 draw against Germany was the 'right result' for coach Cesare Prandelli after Giuseppe Rossi responded to Miroslav Klose's opener.
The result means the Azzurri now hold a 16-year unbeaten run against the Germans, and despite a number of scares, Prandelli feels his side fully deserve the draw.
"The draw is the right result," Prandelli told Rai Uno after the game.
"Losing would have been harsh. We played a good game on a difficult pitch and we were more intense in the second half where we created good chances."
Antonio Cassano was replaced at the interval, but Prandelli can see progress.
"Cassano? He played well, but we are distant compared to this Germany side, but if we continue our enthusiasm then we can do well," he concluded.
