Bastian Schweinsteiger could miss Germany's Euro 2012 Group B match against Netherlands on Wednesday as national team coach Joachim Low is considering replacing him with Toni Kroos due to fitness concerns, reports from Germany suggest.

The Bayern Munich star was plagued by injury problems in the build-up to the European Championship, but returned in time to feature from the start in the Nationalelf's 1-0 win over Portugal on Saturday in their first group stage encounter.

However, doubts have been raised over whether Schweinsteiger is now fit enough to play two games within the space of four days, and if he fails to pass a fitness test, Low could opt for Kroos instead in the centre of mifield.

The 22-year-old Kroos replaced Mesut Ozil for the last five minutes of the match against Portugal, but could be given a chance to start on Wednesday if Schweinsteiger is benched.

Germany can book their ticket for the quarter-finals if they beat Netherlands, and Portugal fail to bag all three points against Denmark in the group's other game.
