De Gea in provisional Spain squad for Euro 2012

The national team coach has left out players from Athletic, Barcelona and Chelsea due to the Copa del Rey and Champions League finals, with a number of debutants making the list
Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has included David De Gea in his 21-man provisional squad for this summer's European Championship in Poland and Ukraine and the upcoming friendlies against Serbia (May 26) and South Korea (May 30).

The World Cup-winning coach has not included any Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona or Chelsea players in his pre-selection as the two Spanish sides are preparing for the Copa del Rey final on May 24, while Chelsea take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League decider this Saturday.

Del Bosque has called up a number of surprises in his provisional roster as Betis midfielder Benat has made the cut, along with Atletico Madrid's Juanfran Torres and Malaga's Isco.

La Liga champions Real Madrid have five representatives in the list, with centre-back Raul Albiol the biggest surprise in the squad.

Spain start Euro 2012 with the Group C match against Italy on June 10, before taking on Republic of Ireland and Croatia.
