Cristiano Ronaldo responded to laser-pointing fans in Bosnia and Herzegovina with an obscene gesture, according to Marca.

The 26-year-old is in the former Yugoslav country with the Portugal squad ahead of his nation's Euro 2012 play-off, and was reportedly greeted at the airport by chants in praise of his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.

The heckling is said to have continued during an official training session, and when a fan flashed a laser pointer in the superstar's face, Ronaldo reportedly brandished a middle finger towards the crowd.

Portugal take on Bosnia in Zenica at 19:00 GMT on Friday night, before hosting Safet Susic's side in Lisbon on Tuesday to decide who will take a place in next summer's tournament.
