thumbnail Hello,

The defender has become a regular under Gerardo Martino and now has a sense of belonging in the first team at Camp Nou

Marc Bartra has voiced his delight with his role at Barcelona this term and says he is beginning to feel important under Gerardo Martino.

The 22-year-old has already made 11 Liga appearances so far this term after struggling to break into the first team in the past few seasons and admits he is very pleased with the faith shown in him by Martino.

"I’m starting to feel important, more a part of the team," Bartra told Barca TV.

"Tata isn’t afraid to send me into a game. It’s better for the team to have a lot of players playing at a high level.

"Things are working out for me, but I know that I have to continue working in order to take advantage of the opportunities the coach gives me."

The centre-back then went on to hail his side's eagerness to win even without key players such as Lionel Messi and Victor Valdes.

"We’ve managed to navigate this time without Valdes and Messi. We haven’t lost our eagerness to win and that’s good for everyone."

Valdes made his comeback in this weekend's win over Elche, while Messi is expected to return to match action in the upcoming Liga clash with Atletico Madrid.
