Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has received some encouraging news from the treatment table as centre-back Gerard Pique has returned to training again after a spell on the sidelines, and is nearing his comeback.
The 24-year-old defender sustained a hamstring injury in Barcelona's 3-0 La Liga win over Racing Santander two weeks ago and has since been out of action.
Nevertheless, the Champions League holders have now revealed on their official website that Pique has resumed training on Sunday.
The former Manchester United defender will not feature in Tuesday's league match away against Granada, but could make his comeback in next weekend's home game against Real Mallorca.
Barcelona were held to a scoreless draw by Sevilla on Saturday evening without Pique and have dropped to second spot in the league table.
