Barcelona are increasing their interest in the performances of Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez, according to Sport.es.

The Chilean was in devastating form for the club at the weekend when they rolled over Palermo 7-0, with Sanchez finding the net four times.

Barca scouts were present to witness the performance of the Udinese star but officials in Italy have valued Sanchez at around €40 million (£34m).

The 22-year-old's agent has confirmed that this season could well be his last in Udine as he plans to further his career, with a number of top clubs across Europe keen admirers of his ability.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been vocal in his admiration of the South American, as have his team's cross-city rivals, and interest is also high in Serie A with Juventus and Inter reportedly monitoring the player's situation.
