Real Madrid will look to secure a cut-price deal for Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose in the current transfer window, according to reports from Spain.
El Mundo Deportivo comments that Jose Mourinho’s desire to land a new number nine for the second half of the season is reliant on the funds made available to him by president Florentino Perez.
Given that Klose is out of contract at the Allianz Arena during the summer, Los Blancos will be able to secure the German international for a nominal fee, to provide cover for the injured Gonzalo Higuain and misfiring Karim Benzema.
The 32-year-old has an exemplary goalscoring record at international level, and while he has not matched that record domestically, Mourinho feels that he could provide an extra dimension for the title run-in.
Klose’s name has been added to the ever-growing list of forwards linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, with a loan move for Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City also a possibility.
