Hamsik: I want to be Napoli's Del Piero

The Slovakia international is full of praise for the Juventus legend ahead of the Coppa Italia final, and has set his sights on reaching a similar status at the Partenopei
Marek Hamsik has revealed that he is eager to stay at Napoli as he wants to become the club's own Alessandro Del Piero.

The Slovakia international has been linked with a move to a bigger team in recent months, but Hamsik appears to have no intention to leave the Partenopei as he is determined to become a San Paolo icon.

"I would very much like to become Napoli's Del Piero. It would be a source of pride for me to still be a key player of this team by 2016, even though it does make me feel old to look that far ahead," Hamsik stated to Corriere dello Sport.

"Del Piero is a phenomenon. He has made history at Juventus over the past 19 years with loads of victories. I don't like the use of superlatives, but we are talking about a truly extraordinary player, who still is very strong."

Del Piero is set for his last Juventus appearance on Sunday when the Turin giants meet Napoli in the final of the Coppa Italia.
