Alberto Aquilani enjoyed his debut for new club AC Milan on Friday night, adding he felt "emotional" ahead of making his bow for the Italian champions.
The 27-year-old is on a year-long loan deal from Liverpool and made his first appearance for the 2010-11 Scudetto winners in their 2-2 draw with Lazio in Serie A on Friday night.
The Italy international played on the left side of a three man midfield alongside Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrosini, and was content with how his first appearance went.
“It was an intense match, we had the chances to win, but at the end of the day can be happy with the point," the former Juventus man told Sky Sport Italia.
"This is a positive result, even if we always want to win. I will admit I felt emotional before kick-off, but once the game started I focused only on playing.
“Now we have to look ahead and keep working for the next games, as we are Milan and we want to win,” he continued.
When asked about his position the Rome born man admitted that although he had not played on the left side of a midfield trio in a while, he was happy to follow coach Massimiliano Allegri's request.
“I do like this position, even though it has been a few years since I played there," he observed.
Early Lazio goals from new strikeforce Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse gave the visitors a 2-0 lead, but this was cancelled out by two goals in four minutes by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano.
Milan now travel to the Camp Nou in midweek to start their Champions League campaign against tournament holders Barcelona.
