AC Milan are in pole position for Scudetto next season - Manchester City's Roberto Mancini

Eastlands boss and ex-Inter coach feels the other big Italian clubs are not yet close to emerging as challengers for the 2011-12 title, with the Rossoneri still the team to beat
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini sees Italian champions AC Milan as favourites to keep a strong grip on the Scudetto next season.

The former Inter coach believes Massimiliano Allegri's men have established themselves as the new dominant force in Serie A after strolling to the title last term.

And he feels that knocking them off the top will prove difficult for the competition.

"I think Milan are the favourites for the next championship," Mancini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Speaking of fellow Italian giants Juventus, he added: "I admire Juventus, they have been clever and have opened an important road.

"I am convinced they will get back to their best, but Milan are still the favourites."
