Inter ready to use Tottenham's interest in Sulley Muntari to snap up Gareth Bale - report

Inter are prepared to offer Sulley Muntari in part-exchange for Gareth Bale after Tottenham Hotspur confirmed their interest in the player, according to the Daily Mail.

Muntari, 26, has fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro since the arrival of head coach Rafael Benitez this summer. He did, however, enjoy an excellent relationship with Spurs manager Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth.

This has seen Inter see the potential of clinching a deal to bring Bale to Serie A. This possibility became more likely after Muntari's agent, Fabien Piveteau, insisted the north London outfit coveted his client.

"We will see what happens in January," Piveteau said.

"He is happy at Inter, but he wants to play. Perhaps he will have more opportunities at another team.

"Tottenham? Yes, it's a possibility. But there are also others."
