Lloris' brother must be given time to progress, warns Nice coach

The experienced trainer has expressed his admiration for his young defender, but warned that the sibling of the Tottenham goalkeeper still has a long way to go
Speaking after the midweek clash against Olympique Lyon in Coupe de La Ligue, Nice coach Claude Puel has insisted that Gautier Lloris should not be put under too much pressure.

Despite keeping him on the bench for the duration of the match, the trainer stated that the 17-year-old brother of Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has a bright future ahead of him.

"He is a strong and big defender. We cannot fast-track his progress," Puel told RMC Sport.

"There are a lot of young players with great quality. Players develop by training with the full-time professionals.

"We must show them that there may be a time when they are called to play, and they have to be ready. Their presence and eagerness to get their chance keeps everyone on their toes."

Puel's Nice find themselves in 16th place in the Ligue 1 table with nine points from 10 games.
