Leonardo targets further titles with Inter after Coppa Italia win

The Brazilian tactician was very happy with his team's performance and the will and determination to topple Palermo 3-1 at the Olimpico shown by his players
Inter coach Leonardo has tipped his side to win more titles following their Coppa Italia win over Palermo on Sunday.

A brace from Samuel Eto'o as well as a goal from Diego Milito helped secure a 3-1 win Rome, and the Inter boss was delighted to overcome such a resilient side.

"It was an exciting win, a perfect close to a season of continuity. It is an immense achievement, the team showed great desire to lift the cup against a very good Palermo side, which deserve compliments," beamed the Brazilian tactician, clearly overcome with the joy of his cup with Inter.

"Being able to close the season by winning Coppa Italia on the day of the 150th anniversary of Italy's reunification is a wonderful thing," added Leonardo in an interview with ANSA.

The coach also commented on the atmosphere in the stadium and the challenges that lie ahead next season.

"To finish this season playing in a big event like the Italian Cup final with Palermo's and Inter's wonderful fans in the stadium is the best thing.

"We have to keep our desire to win with us next season. It was a difficult match, and without lust for success we could not have done this. The three titles are a sign of a continuity that few teams have," concluded Leonardo.

Inter's triumph means the team have picked up three cups this season - the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa and the Club World Cup.
