Besiktas coach Tayfur Havutcu and seven other suspects of match-fixing in Turkey have been released from prison.

Istanbul BB duo Ibrahim Akin and Iskender Alin and Besiktas deputy chairman Serdal Adali are among the people who have been released as they could not be detained any longer based on the evidence available.

The eight suspects in question are unable to leave the country and will still go to trial, which is due to start on February 14.

This means that, from the 93 people who have been named as suspects, currently 23 are in jail pending trial.

On Saturday, Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim claimed the allegations in the indictment were unfounded and illegal.
