Santos midfielder Elano insists team-mate Ganso is not having discussions with Corinthians over a possible move to the club.
The former Galatasaray player says he heard president Andres Sanchez reveal his interest in the 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, in a recent interview.
"I heard the interview, and this is how I learnt about the interest," Elano said. "I spoke with Ganso before training and he knows nothing.
"I even asked if he knew this was happening, and for him to be honest with me, and he said it was not true. I have come here on his behalf to say that he is not negotiating with Corinthians."
The 29-year-old hopes the fans be more patient with the star midfielder, who was jeered after the side's disappointing loss against Palmeiras.
"I hope our fans can have a little more patience with Ganso," continued Elano. "We are saddened by this kind of attitude, especially towards him."
Elano admits Ganso may have a dream to one day play in Europe, but he is focused on doing well for Santos.
"Who does not dream about playing in Europe? This is normal and will eventually happen with him and Neymar," added Elano.
