Fabrice Muamba will present the Capital One Cup trophy to the winners of Sunday’s final at Wembley between Swansea and Bradford.

The former Bolton midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during a FA Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham last March, forcing him to retire from professional football at the age of 24.

And the former England Under-21 international, who has since kept in touch with football through a series of media work, is looking forward to presenting the trophy to the captain of the winning team.

"It's been such an exciting tournament this year and it will be a great honour to be presenting the trophy to the winners,” Muamba told reporters.

“I know it will be a very special atmosphere on Sunday."

Muamba will be Capital One’s guest of honour during the game and will have the privilege of watching from the Royal Box as well as meeting the players from each team beforehand.

The sponsor will also make a donation to a charity Muamba is actively involved in, the Hearts and Goals campaign, which attempts to help raise awareness and give communities throughout the country access to medical equipment and training.
