Uefa have released their Champions League team of the season, with six of the 11 players coming from finalists Barcelona and Manchester United.
The side has been determined via the Player Rater system which allows users of the uefa.com website to cast votes on players' performances.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side have only conceded four goals this season in the competition, which may account for Edwin van der Sar being selected in goal and Nemanja Vidic's inclusion at centre-back.
The Serbian is joined by former team-mate Gerard Pique at the heart of the defence, with Shakhtar Donetsk's Darijo Srna and Real Madrid's Marcelo completing the back four.
In midfield it is an all-Wembley central midfield partnership, with Ryan Giggs and Andres Iniesta making the cut. Gareth Bale is included on the left wing following Tottenham's progression to the quarter-finals, while Mesut Ozil's performances in his debut season for Real see him
Top scorer Lionel Messi is joined by veteran Raul, who rolled back the years in Schalke's journey to the semi-finals, up front.
Team in full: Van der Sar; Srna, Vidic, Pique, Marcelo; Ozil, Giggs, Iniesta, Bale; Messi, Raul.
