Jason Koumas to rejoin Cardiff City on season-long loan from Wigan Athletic

Jason Koumas has returned to Cardiff City from Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan subject to the lifting of their transfer embargo.

Koumas was at the Bluebirds in the 2005-06 season where he became a fans favourite with a string of impressive performances, which led to manager Dave Jones attempting to bring him back to the club, only for West Bromwich Albion to sell him to current club Wigan Athletic.

The former Wales international has dropped down the pecking order at the DW stadium and will welcome the chance to play regular first team football again, as Cardiff attempt to break into the Premier League.

The club are currently suspended in making any transfers following their financial difficulties but it is understood that once the embargo is lifted, which the club are confident it will be, then Koumas will return to the Welsh side.

The Championship club recently lost Joe Ledley to Celtic and Koumas's imminent arrival should help Dave Jones to continue the clubs progress from last season.
