Norwich City sign former Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy on three-year deal

Canaries snap up Toffees shot-stopper…
Norwich City have completed the signing of goalkeeper John Ruddy from Everton for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Motherwell, moves to Carrow Road on a three-year deal.

Ruddy featured just once for Everton after signing from Cambridge United in 2005, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Norwich manager Paul Lambert had been in talks with Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton over the possible transfer of goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who enjoyed a season-long loan deal with the Canaries last season.

However, Forster looks likely to provide back-up to Steve Harper for the upcoming season as the Magpies look to stay in the Premier League.
