Liverpool's Lallana sets Premier League benchmark

The Reds ace was on target against Stoke City on Tuesday, meaning he has now been involved in more goals this season than any other top-flight midfielder

Liverpool have had plenty of star turns this season, with Adam Lallana up there with their leading lights.

Philippe Coutinho has generated plenty of headlines, while Sadio Mane has been a revelation since arriving from Southampton over the summer.

It is, however, a man acquired from the Saints back in 2014 who currently tops an important Premier League chart.

Lallana was back among the goals against Stoke City on Tuesday, and no top-flight midfield rival can now match his end product in the final third of the field.

Firmino was also on target during the first-half against the Potters, with the Brazilian proving to be the Reds’ most potent attacking outlet in 2016.

He has more than justified his starting berth ahead of Daniel Sturridge this season, while Lallana has blossomed into the player Liverpool believed they were getting when spending big on the England international.
