For the second week running Liverpool shot themselves in the foot by conceding some really sloppy goals, and again under fire keeper Loris Karius faced the brunt of it.
After falling apart at Bournemouth last week, Liverpool looked to have shaken that off when they powered into an early 1-0 lead at Anfield through Adam Lallana and were cruising against West Ham.
However, Dimitri Payet's curling free kick found its way into the net despite Karius getting a hand on the ball, before Joel Matip was caught flat footed by a deflected ball over the top to allow Michail Antonio to stab home.
Karius didn't appear to be strong enough to palm away Payet's free kick, and although it was Matip's mistake that let Antonio in, the Liverpool keeper again attracted plenty of criticism for not being decisive enough when coming off his line.
Would rather Clemence or Grobellaar as they are now than karius...#lfc Him, Bravo and Gomes worst three keepers in the league— Alan Whittle (@redowl2) December 11, 2016
Awful from Karius. No idea why he’s leaving such a big space on the right of his goal there.— Michael (@MichoB93) December 11, 2016
Karius is a weak link and teams will target him. Useless goalkeeper. Poor kicking and distribution too.#LFC— Lovemore Chiduza (@lchiduza) December 11, 2016
Has anyone ever seen Karius' hands? I'm starting to think he just stuffs his gloves with wet toilet paper.— daniel (@_danielosborne) December 11, 2016
Say what u want but we've got a 5 year old here telling us Karius is too far over. Absolute joke— Ray Warham (@RayLfc123) December 11, 2016
