OFFICIAL: Middlesbrough sign Negredo on season-long loan

The former Real Madrid, Sevilla and Man City forward - who has scored 10 goals in 21 games for the Spanish national side, has joined the Premier League newcomers for a season
Middlesbrough have announced the signing of Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo, who joins from Valencia on a season-long loan.

The striker, formerly of Manchester City, has linked up with Aitor Karanka's squad at their training camp in Marbella.

The 30-year-old forward had previously travelled 400 miles by car, with his representatives, to meet the Boro boss and thrash out a deal following laboured discussions.

Negredo is Karanka's eight summer signing, with Marten de Roon, Viktor Fischer and Bernardo Espinosa also joining the club.
