The midfielder is stepping up his rehabilitation from yet another hamstring concern, with Micah Richards also completing the 90 minutes in an emphatic 4-0 win over OldhamManchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell scored a hat-trick for the Premier League side's Elite Development Squad as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.
The 22-year-old has managed just 11 appearances for Roberto Mancini's men since joining for Everton in a £15 million move last summer due to a string of fitness issues.
Rodwell has suffered nine separate hamstring injuries since the start of the 2011-12 season, and was forced off after just 25 minutes of the 1-0 win over Aston Villa on March 4.
The two-time England international started Monday night's game against Oldham and scored three times in a comfortable 4-0 win, with Denis Suarez also on the scoresheet.
It was the second Under-21 appearance for Rodwell in eight days following a 63-minute showing in the 2-1 win over Stoke last week.
Micah Richards also completed the full 90 minutes as he looks to return to full fitness following a start for the first team against Wigan on April 17, and the right-back won the penalty that sealed Rodwell's hat-trick.
