The Rs captain believes that the club's new record signing can fire Harry Redknapp's men to safety after he netted on his Premier League debut on Saturday afternoon

QPR defender Clint Hill has hailed the club's latest signing Loic Remy after he marked his Premier League debut with a goal.

The 26-year-old, who joined for a club record £8 million fee from Marseille on Wednesday, opened the scoring as the Rs earned a 1-1 draw against West Ham at Upton Park on Saturday.

And club captain Hill believes the Frenchman will play a pivotal role in the west London side's bid to avoid relegation this season.

TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE

Hill told reporters: “It was brilliant to see him take that chance. If we can keep the ball and create a few more chances for him he will go on and be a great signing for us.

“Hopefully he can kickstart our campaign."

The Liverpool-born centre-back also reflected on QPR's campaign thus far, and hinted at a belief that his side can pull themselves out of the mire.

"We’ve had a terrible season, that’s the blunt truth. To find ourselves only four points behind shows other teams are struggling in this league," he added.
