Begovic happy at Stoke City despite reported interest from Manchester United and Liverpool

The Bosnian shot-stopper has been in impressive form for the Potters this season and says he isn't distracted by the speculation linking him with a move away from the Britannia
Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic insists he is happy to stay at the Britannia Stadium, despite reported interest from two of the Premier League's leading clubs.

The 25-year-old hasn't missed a single minute of action this term for a Potters side that boasts the second best defensive record in the league, conceding only 12 goals in 15 games.

That record has reportedly sparked interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, but Begovic was quick to rubbish any talk of a move away from Stoke.

"It's always nice when the biggest teams in the world are looking at you. It's a compliment, but it doesn't mean anything." He told The Sentinel.

"We keep our feet on the ground here and the manager wouldn't let that change. I have three-and-a-half years on my contract and I am concentrating on playing, staying in the team, and trying to help the team be successful.

"I am happy here so there are no issues with that."

Begovic's seven shutouts so far this season put him on top the Premier League table for most clean sheets.

"That's what goalkeepers work for," Begovic added. "Goals don't interest me, if I ever scored one I would probably turn around and run straight back into my goal!

"Clean sheets are always a great bonus but ultimately it is all about the three points.

"You attack and defend as a team. We take pride in working hard on both aspects of the game and things are going well for us."
