Following the dramatic purchase of Fulham forward Clint Dempsey on Friday evening, Andre Villas-Boas let Kane go in order to help the youngster progress and provide him with enough top-flight football in order to challenge for a place in the future.

Despite declaring just a week ago that he was ready to score "plenty of goals" for Spurs, Kane will have to show that he can do so at Carrow Road in order to play his way into the plans of Villas-Boas.

The England Under-19 forward went on loan to Millwall for the second half of the 2011-12 campaign, and impressed so much with his nine goals from 27 appearances that he was named as the club's s Young Player of the Season.
