Flamengo youngster Adryan has revealed that he held talks with Manchester United over a potential move last summer before deciding to stay in Brazil.

The attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Brazil in recent years and has confirmed that he shunned interest from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to pen a new deal to remain with his current club.

"Man United did talk to me and showed interest," he told Globo Esporte.

"But I was not interested in moving at that point. Let's see if something adequate comes up in the future.

"I don't think about going to Europe so quickly, things need to be done step by step.”

The 17-year-old shone while representing his country during last summer's U-17 World Cup in Egypt, scoring five goals as the Selecao youngsters finished fourth.
