Tottenham Hotspur hope to persuade Luka Modric to commit his future to the club by offering a new contract amid interest from Manchester United, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claims that Spurs are concerned, however, that the Croatian midfielder still sees his future elsewhere after submitting a transfer request during the summer following strong interest from Chelsea.
The report claims that United are ready to renew their interest in Modric, and that the playmaker could earn more than the £100,000 Tottenham are prepared to offer him elsewhere.
It is also claimed that Modric has been reluctant to agree to a deal that was placed on the table by Spurs in September.
The 26-year-old recently passed the 100-appearance mark in the Premier League for Tottenham.
Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Steven Pienaar is a reported January loan target for former club Everton.
