Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku dreams of playing alongside his brother Jordan

Blues' new signing comments on his dream move to Stamford Bridge and his desire to one day star alongside his younger sibling, who is 'technically better than me'
New Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku dreams of one day playing alongside his younger brother Jordan for the Blues.

The Belgian international striker was signed from Anderlecht in a reported £18 million transfer, and made his debut on Saturday at Stamford Bridge against Norwich when he came on as a substitute for Fernando Torres.

The 18 year old comes to Chelsea on the back of a successful season in which he scored 20 goals in all competitions. With his move to the Premier League complete he now wishes to star alongside his younger brother Jordan.

He told reporters: “I have loved Chelsea since I was a boy. Now that I have fulfilled a dream by joining Chelsea, my final one is to have my brother join me one day.

“It is our dream to play in the same team. We have done it in friendly games but, one day, we hope to do it when it matters.”

Lukaku’s 6’3’’ frame has invited comparisons to his hero Didier Drogba, but he believes his 17 year old brother Jordan Lukaku, likened in the press to Gareth Bale, could be even better.

He continued: “Technically he is better than me. He is a left winger who is very skilful and strong.

“I think when the scouts see him, they will see what he can do.”
