Galatasaray have confirmed that they are in talks with Arsenal and Emmanuel Eboue over a potential move for the full-back.

In a statement released to the Turkish stock market, the club have revealed that the Gunners defender has begun formal negotiations over a move from the Emirates.

The 28-year-old has spent six years at Arsenal following his move from Belgian side Beveren in 2005.

Eboue's future at the Emirates began to be questioned upon the arrival of his fellow Ivory Coast team-mate Gervinho, when his No.27 shirt was given to the former Lille star.

With Arsene Wenger seemingly settled with Bacary Sagna as his first-choice right-back, Eboue has had to make do with cameo appearances from the bench over the past few seasons.

One of the lowest points of the defender's six years at Arsenal was in 2008 at home to Wigan, when, despite coming on as a substitute earlier in the match, he was taken off, prompting ironic cheers from his own supporters.
