German and English media sources are at odds over the possibility of a move for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner to Borussia Dortmund.
A report from English newspaper The Times claims that the Bundesliga champions are interested in signing the 23-year-old, with the Gunners demanding over £11 million in exchange for his release.
Rumours of the Dane's transfer have been fuelled by statements the player's father and agent recently made.
"There is interest from several German clubs. I can confirm that Borussia Dortmund would like to buy," he told Sporten.dk. "Unfortunately I cannot comment on whether there have been any negotiations between Dortmund and Nicklas or Dortmund and Arsenal."
However, German publication Kicker claims that Dortmund are not currently interested in the Denmark international, and would only consider signing him in the event that striker Lucas Barrios is sold. Rubin Kazan were said to be willing to spend £17.9m on the Paraguayan last summer, a bid that was rejected.
Dortmund sporting director Hans-Joachim Watzke recently scuppered rumours of any significant signings, having told Bild: "Our plans for the new season are complete."
Before the transfer window opened, BVB were said to have budgeted £8.9m to spend on transfers, a total that has already been met with the additions of Ilkay Gundogan and Ivan Perisic.
