Arsenal's Bacary Sagna: Everyone is 200% behind manager Arsene Wenger

Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna insists that manager Arsene Wenger has a "200 per cent" backing from his players.

The Gunners were competing to win the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and League Cup just three months ago, but managed to bow out of all cup competitions and falter in the title race as Manchester United won the league.

But the north London club's slump extended after a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa on Sunday, and Wenger's men slipped from third to fourth in the table.

And their current position means that they would have to play a qualifier to compete in the group stage of the Champions League next season.

Sagna told Sky Sports News: "Everyone is 200 per cent behind him. I think he is the right guy.

"He made a lot for the team, for the players and for the club as well. So we just want to keep working hard and give the maximum."

Sagna also expects skipper Cesc Fabregas to remain at the club beyond the summer, despite long standing interest from Barcelona.

"Of course. He is under contract with the team. He is still our captain," he added.

"Unfortunately he was injured, but he will be back soon. We need him badly because he is a good player, he is very talented and everyone knows what he can bring to the team.

"So I am looking forward to playing with him next year."

Sagna is rated by the Castrol EDGE Rankings as the 270th best player currently plying his trade in one of the top five leagues in Europe.
