Lorient star pairing Morgan Amalfitano and Kevin Gameiro are widely expected to move on from Les Merlus during this summer's transfer window with interest intensifying both at home and abroad.
Amalfitano's contract runs out at the end of the season, leaving him as a free agent, and Gameiro has only 12 months left on his deal as the two weigh up their options.
According to daily French publication L'Equipe a host of possible destinations await the couple, with interest from Spain and England particularly fervent.
Amalfitano would prefer a move to la Liga and, according to Spanish sources, he has already passed a medical with Sevilla. However Lorient insist nothing has been signed as potential suitors look to make a last ditch attempt to sign the coveted midfielder. Gerard Houllier's Aston Villa are rumoured to be among the candidates searching for his signature.
Although Gameiro still has another year left on his deal, he will still try and exercise his right to move on. The club may prefer to cash in on their prized asset at the end of term rather than let him walk away for nothing next summer. Valencia and Villarreal are labelled as long-term admirers of the striker who has 18 goals in Ligue 1 this season. However if Paris Saint Germain qualify for next season's Champions League, it is thought they will use that finance to purchase Lorient's deadly No. 9.
