Didier Drogba is believed to be ready to quit Chelsea if he is not in the starting XI for Tuesday's crunch clash against Manchester United.
The Blues are currently placed fifth in the Premier League, two points adrift of fourth place. And the gap between United and the Blues has widened to 13 points, although Carlo Ancelotti's charges have a game in hand.
And any semblance of hope that remains in terms of defending their status as champions will be flushed down the drain if the Blues lose to United when the two sides meet on March 1 at Stamford Bridge.
With a game of such magnitude on the horizon, Ivorian striker Drogba would want and expect the opportunity to make his presence felt during the encounter.
However, he has been benched recently, with the club's record signing Fernando Torres being favoured instead.
And now The Daily Mail reports that the former Marseille hitman is ready to walk through the exit door if he is snubbed again for a game as big as the one against United.
The newspaper claims that even a change of manager may not be enough to convince Drogba to remain at Stamford Bridge.
