Real Zaragoza winger Jermaine Pennant wants to make Stoke City loan permanent

Englishman wants to stay at the Britannia

Stoke City's on-loan winger Jermaine Pennant has declared his desire to stay at the club, rather than return to parent club and Primera Division relegation candidates Real Zaragoza.

Pennant, who had a fairly miserable season at La Romareda with Zaragoza, has put his decision down to the fantastic welcome he has been given by the Stoke fans which has made him feel at home.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the former Arsenal wideman said: "The lads are a great set of lads. The manager has given me a platform, he's been great with me. The fans have been fantastic.

“I don't think I could have asked for a better reception. They treat me like I've already signed and I've been a player here for two years.

"The club in general is a fantastic place to be. I'm enjoying it here. I'm enjoying my football. Putting pen-to-paper would be ideal for me."
