Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is believed to have had a training ground row with four players concerning the alleged preferential treatment of young striker Mario Balotelli.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge, Joleon Lescott & Shaun Wright-Phillips had a war of words with the Italian, claiming that he has employed double standards when it comes to his team selection.

It has been reported that the aforementioned four players questioned the gaffer after Balotelli was allowed to leave training early - a day after the Manchester derby - despite having played no part in the game.

Adebayor is also believed to be infuriated at having made an appearance only as a late substitute to replace skipper Carlos Tevez during the goalless draw against Manchester United. The Togolese forward is understood to have kicked a tactics board in anger after the game.

Balotelli arrived in a £23 million transfer from Mancini's former club Inter during the summer.
