Manchester City have prepared a package worth £6 million-a-year for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, UK can reveal.

City manager Roberto Mancini has an astonishing £100m to spend when the transfer window opens in January and has made the Bosnian star his prime target.

Dzeko's representatives have been made aware that he will be offered a contract at Eastlands worth a whopping £120,000-a-week plus added goal bonuses.

It dwarfs the £90,000-a-week he currently earns at Wolfsburg, who value their prize asset at £50m and have also received interest from Italian giants Juventus. It is understood City are willing to offer up to £35m to land their man, with Roque Santa Cruz in part-exchange to smooth through the deal.

As UK revealed on Saturday, City are confident of landing the the 24-year-old after his camp were guests for the Manchester derby last week and were also shown around the club's training ground.

Dzeko also emerged over the weekend as a prime target for Bayern Munich but it is understood he wants to test himself away from the Bundesliga while City want to add more firepower to their strikeforce to support captain Carlos Tevez.

Cause for celebration | Dzeko set for a £30,000-a-week pay rise at City

City chief executive Garry Cook and football administrator Brian Marwood flew to Abu Dhabi last week to meet with club’s billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.

The group discussed in detail their plans for reducing the wage bill in line with Uefa's fair-play regulations and want to offload fringe players such as Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor in the new year to save tens of millions on their yearly budget.

City would welcome the opportunity to part ways with Paraguayan striker Santa Cruz, who earns £90,000-a-week, as part of the deal to sign Dzeko.

Adebayor is on around £180,000-a-week and City hope to offload him to Juventus if the Italians allow them a clear run at Dzeko.

Wayne Bridge, who has a £95,000 weekly salary, has been told he has no future at the club, while City will listen to offers for winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.
