Everton have agreed a deal with Azerbaijani club Neftchi Baku to take the highly-rated teenager Araz Abdullayev to Goodison Park in January.
The 18-year-old, who won his first international cap at the age of just 16, has penned an initial three-year deal with David Moyes side, with the option of a further two years.
The move is subject to a work permit being approved for the player who is seen as the biggest shining light in Azerbaijani football, and his club believe that there will be no problems on that front.
Neftchi vice-president Tahir Suleymanov was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: "We did not plan to earn from Araz Abdullayev because our concerns are about the development of Azerbaijani football.
"But if he moves from Everton to another club, Neftchi will receive some of the fee."
