AC Milan have reportedly refused to allow Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to make a move to Tottenham on a season-long loan deal.

Spurs are thought to be interested in a move for the Dutchman, in the hope of adding to their squad as they compete in the Champions League for the first time in almost 50 years.

For his part, the former Ajax forward has had an underwhelming time at the San Siro, and has been widely tipped to leave the club after failing to create the kind of an impact that was expected of him.

After the recent acquisition of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona, The Sun claims that the Serie A outfit have told the London-based club to return with a firm offer, while vetoing a loan move for the 27-year-old.

It is believed that Spurs could now swoop with an £11 million bid for the player and acquire his services on a permanent basis.

Robbie Keane has been reported to be the casualty in the Tottenham squad if Huntelaar's potential switch should reach fruition, and the Republic of Ireland international is thought to be in talks with Celtic over second spell on loan at Parkhead.
