Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly considering placing a bid for Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.

Allardyce is looking to sign the out-of-favour player for around £1 million and the Daily Mirror suggest that a cut-price deal could be arranged by Sunday.

Reo-Coker is in the final year of his contract and Villa may look to cash in on the 26-year-old, who is unlikely to be offered a new deal by Martin O’Neill following a bust up last season.

Allardyce is looking at Reo-Coker as a replacement for Vince Grella, who has been targeted by Turkish giants Galatasaray.
