On-loan Empoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has hinted that a move to Liverpool could be close to completion.
The Poland international, on a short-term deal at the Italian outfit from Serie A rivals Udinese, has established himself as key part of the club's starting line-up this season, has also become a regular for his national side.
Liverpool are set to pursue the midfielder in the summer transfer window, as Goal previously revealed, and the 21-year-old did not hold back from suggesting that contact had been made with Liverpool.
"Some people may think it's only rumours but I know something more about it," Zielinski told Futbolfejs.
"I am working hard with Empoli so that in June I may have a chance [to make] such a big transfer."

The Poland midfielder also looks to have familiarised himself with his potential new team-mates and manager, indicating that he could work well with Philippe Coutinho and revealing that he has asked former Borussia Dortmund star Kuba Blaszczykowski about Jurgen Klopp.
"He's a great player," Zielinski said of Coutinho. "Fast, creative and with great technical skills. I learn from him. I watch him.
"Of course we could make a good pair. Time will tell what's gonna happen."
And on his potential new manager at Anfield, Zielinski admitted that he had consulted his international team-mate.
"I spoke to Kuba. He gave me some tips but nothing is known yet," he added.
